I'm not catholicism-based, but I know many people who follow the rules of this creed quite carefully. I admire their dedication, & I think they're wonderful people due to it. There are many things in life that are magnificent in abstract theory, but aren't so great in practice. Though a catholicism-based wedding day seems to cover what the belief means to those who attend, I have to say it's lacking a bit. Though who follow this belief are acclimated to the length of the wedding-ceremony & the christian wedding songs, but for some-one like me, this is something of a shock. One of my closest friends asked me to be in her catholic wedding, & I had no notion what I was getting in to when I agreed. I enjoyed the christian wedding songs, but it was lengthy!

The wedding-ceremony itself is not bad, it's the length of it. It seemed to me that everyone was moving in slow motion, & that did not help. A catholic wedding day is a long affair, but that might not be the case if everybody would just move a bit faster. You can get things done without appearing hurried if you put your brain to it, but it seemed that everybody who was involved in her catholicism-based wedding day wanted to take their time, including the individuals who sang the christian wedding songs.

The length of the ceremony was a bit much for me, and the key factor was my choice of shoe. I had to have some-thing with a heel, but I had no idea that I would have to stand up in them for an hour. By the time we were half-way done with the catholic wedding ceremony, I thought my feet were going to break off. They hurt like crazy, and my dress wasn't lengthy enough for me to glide them off for a little comfort. I noticed many of the other girls in the wedding were shifting around uncomfortably, and when there were minutes when we could sit, one could hear an audible sigh of relief from most of the wedding day party.

Over all, though, the catholicism-based wedding day was beautiful, and I'm happy that my friend & her brand-new husband had the wedding they wanted, & that every-thing went smoothly. My biggest problem was that I did not know what to expect, and that ought to have been something that I asked as the preparations were being made. She was very aware that we might be uncomfortable, but she was so weary that she mentioned this to us much too late. That's ok though, I would do any-thing for her. I will think twice if someone else asks me to be a part of a catholic wedding again though.
