My sister and I designed a baby shower party for 1 of our nieces. We decided to have it in the fellowship area of the local church because it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't want to get too intricate with the baby shower decorations due to the fact that we had to have the entire area cleaned out instantaneously after the party. We did want to have a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a festive air. There's a cradle that is passed to each new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first 4 to 6 weeks. This cradle was my mother's. We decided that we would use the bassinet as the center of our baby shower decorations.

The fellowship section has big round tables that seat ten individuals. We moved 1 table off by itself to be the presents table. We covered this table with a soft pink table cloth; our niece knows she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the center of the table. We made the decision to use our presents for the baby shower decorations. I had obtained a pink and white infant blanket, which we hung over the side of the bassinet. We pinned several rattles and other baby toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then showed the little ensembles that my sister had bought. We finished the baby shower party decorations for the presents table by putting a large stuffed bear into the bassinet. It's so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!

For the food service table we had an array of fresh cut flowers from the community florist. She used silky pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the display. We decided that no other baby shower decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we put on this table, together with a cake that was festooned with a stork holding a little doll in a pink frosting blanket.

We had also gotten a corsage for our niece and 1 for each of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very nice and we wouldn't have to spend plenty of time cleaning up baby shower decorations due to the fact that they would all be sent home as presents to our niece.

We had a big turn out for the shower. My niece received several very nice gifts. She was glad that we had the baby shower in a space that was not small. As she progresses with the maternity she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 minutes after the baby shower was over the fellowship section was cleaned and we were on our way home.
